Coating inspection under way on pipe at a coating facility

Service 02

Coating Inspection

Independent inspection and pictorial quality documentation — pipe mills, recoating, offshore and onshore construction.

Evidence that holds up years later

A coating failure discovered in service is expensive. The same failure documented at the point of application is a line item. Independent inspection produces the record that settles which of those you are dealing with.

Work covers surface preparation, application and cure across pipe mill production, recoating programmes, and onshore and offshore construction. Each stage is recorded photographically alongside written observation, so the finished package reads as evidence rather than assertion — for the steel producer, the pipeline contractor, and the certification body reviewing it afterwards.

Inspection is carried out to the applicable industry and company standards, with documentation prepared in the format the project requires.

Typically covers

  • Surface preparation and profile assessment
  • Application monitoring — ambient conditions, wet and dry film thickness
  • Cure and adhesion verification
  • Holiday detection and repair documentation
  • Pipe mill production coating and field joint coating
  • Recoating and maintenance programmes
  • Pictorial and written quality documentation packages
